On 1 December, the CEI-Executive Secretariat reiterated its cooperation with the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative Secretariat (RAI) with the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Secretary General Roberto Antonione and Desislava Nikolaeva Gotskova, Head of the RAI Secretariat jointly signed the agreement, which will strengthen their partnership through an appropriate framework for developing joint actions on topics of common interest.
In particular, the MoU aims at promoting effective regional cooperation in the field of anti-corruption, taking into account the geographical scopes and institutional missions of both organisations.
To this end, opportunities for collaboration were presented by both parties during a meeting - after the signing ceremony - with DSG Nina Kodelja, thus setting the grounds for future joint projects mainly promoting good governance, strengthening legislation and promoting rule of law, transparency and integrity in the public and private sector.
On that same day, the RAI Secretariat delegation took part in the High-level Transparency Day organised by the University of Trieste.
