Circular Bioeconomy (CBE) is central to the EU's climate goals, aiming to reduce GHG emissions and enhance local economies. Significant efforts have been made towards this, resulting in strategies such as the EU Bioeconomy Strategy and EU Green Deal.
The CEI focuses on promoting CBE benefits in its countries, bridging gaps in policy priorities and supporting R&I. It plays a crucial role in this landscape, particularly due to the abundant biomass within its Member States, which holds immense potential for producing renewable materials and energy.
CEI activities mainly focus on: promoting regional cooperation, knowledge exchange, policy development, interdisciplinary approaches, and inclusive growth strategies.
