On June 20-21, 2024, the CEI - Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES) participated in the 47th Plenary Meeting of the South-East Europe Health Network (SEEHN) in Sarajevo, which focused on "Strengthening Community Health Services."
The event was organised by the Bosnia and Herzegovina SEEHN Presidency, the Executive Committee, and the Secretariat of the network. Attendees included National Health Coordinators and alternates from SEEHN Member States, directors of SEEHN Regional Health Development Centers, and representatives from partner countries and regional and international organizations.
Ana Sinkovic, CEI-ES Focal Point on Health Strategies and Emergencies Response presented the latest achievements of the Organisation in the field of health and wellbeing, highlighting activities resulting from the collaboration with the WHO Regional Office Europe and other initiatives.
An overview of the EU-funded IDEAHL project, in which the CEI-ES is a partner, was also provided. This aimed to gauge participants' interest in follow-up activities and explore new cooperation opportunities anticipated for next fall.
The meeting aimed to promote discussions and cooperation among SEEHN Member States to strengthen healthcare systems and public health partnerships in the Western Balkans and beyond.
Participants discussed SEEHN's efforts to build capacities related to community health services in the Member States. The meeting offered a platform to share best practices, innovations, and potential solutions for the SEE region. The overall goal of the project is disease prevention and health promotion, with a particular focus on vulnerable and socially excluded groups, ensuring that no one is left behind.
