BSBF promotional roadshow in CEI Member States stops in Budapest

The fifth event of the promotional roadshow of the “Big Science Business Forum” (BSBF) – a joint effort of the CEI-Executive Secretariat, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia and the BSBF organising committee - was held in Budapest on 7 May 2024.

Following similar initiatives previously held in Belgrade, Bratislava, Prague and Warsaw, the event aimed at discussing the emerging Big Science market in Europe and its opportunities for local companies and operators, starting from those offered by the upcoming “Big Science Business Forum” (BSBF), to be held in Trieste on 1-4 October.

Hosted at the Italian Cultural Institute, the gathering was opened by Counsellor Diego Randazzo, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Italy to Hungary. Additional introductory remarks were addressed by Ketty Segatti, Head of section of strategic innovation, research and university projects of the Central Direction for Labour, education, and family of the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia, Zsófia Légrádi, representative of Hungary within the Committee of CEI National Coordinators, and Zsuzsanna Király, CEI Deputy Secretary General.

Following a thorough presentation of the BSBF by Paolo Acunzo from ENEA, Director of the hosting organisation of the BSBF Trieste 2024, the event culminated in a roundtable discussion moderated by Zoltan Gyarmati from ELI (Extreme Light Infrastructure), which focused on the topic of research-industry collaborations towards the creation of the European Big Science common market.

The “BSBF promotional roadshow in CEI Member States” will carry on in the forthcoming weeks, with two events already scheduled in Zagreb (13 June) and Ljubljana (14 June).
