Strengthening Regional Cooperation Including Central Eastern Europe was the main objective of the workshop, organised by the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, Slovakia on 2-4 June.
On 23 May the 2nd Stakeholder’s Roundtable led by the CEI - Executive Secretariat in the framework of the Inter-Connect project was held in Trieste, gathering representatives from the Municipality of Trieste, Muggia and Koper, as well as from the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Koper Regional Development Centre, Samer & Co, and the Association ViaggiareSlow.
On 15-16 May 2019, the 5th Steering Committee Meeting of the project CONNECT2CE led by the CEI-Executive Secretariat was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Project partners mainly gathered to evaluate and discuss the concluded and ongoing project activities, as well as to elaborate on upcoming events.
On 18 April, the presentation of an experimental cross-border single ticket to travel on the vehicles of two public transport operators between the cities of Trieste and Ljubljana was opened at the CEI HQ by CEI Secretary General, Roberto Antonione.
On 9-10 April, in the framework of the 4helix+ project, the CEI-Executive Secretariat - in its capacity as project partner dealing with communication - took part in the Final Blue BootCamp and Transnational Brokerage Event in Zadar (Croatia), organised by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (project partner).
On 27-28 March 2019, the CEI-Executive Secretariat participated as Project Partner in the official kick-off meeting of the EU Project ICARUS (Intermodal Connections in Adriatic-Ionian Region to Upgrowth Seamless solutions for passenger) held in Venice.
The second Blue Scenario Workshop of the BLUE_BOOST project was organised in Monfalcone on 22 February, at the Headquarters of MARE Technology Cluster FVG. The event focused on maritime transport and more specifically addressed the topic of sustainable mobility in coastal and inland waters.
On 15 February 2019, the first Blue Scenario Workshop of the BLUE_BOOST project was held in Trieste, at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Venezia Giulia. Addressing the topic of Innovative Solutions and Materials for Boatbuilding, the event gathered representatives from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and research institutions active in traditional and emerging sectors of Blue Economy in Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region.
On 6-7 February 2019, 3rd Steering Committee Meeting of the ADRIPASS project was held in Ploce (Croatia). The meeting was hosted by Port of Ploce Authority, project partner.
In the framework of the CEI Know-how Exchange Programme (KEP) financed by the CEI Fund at the EBRD, the project TRAIN-DIE started with a kick-off meeting held in Parma on 18 January 2019.
SECNET project partners gathered on 8 January at the premises of the Port of Trieste - Lead Partner of the project - for their 4th Steering Committee meeting.
On 12-13 December, the HZ Putnicki Prijevoz (Croatian Railways - Passenger Transport) hosted in Zagreb the third steering committee meeting of the project INTER-CONNECT (Intermodality Promotion and Rail Renaissance in Adriatic – Ionian Region) financed under the Interreg ADRION Programme and supported by the ERDF and IPAII funds.
The Patras Science Park hosted in Patras (GR) the 3rd BLUE_BOOST Project Steering Committee meeting and 2nd Cross Field Visits on 4-5 December respectively.
The 4th Steering Committee Meeting of the CONNECT2CE project was held in Pilsen (Czech Republic) on 21-22 November, at the premises of the Regional Authority of the Pilsen Region (project partner).
On 12 November, the CEI Executive Secretariat hosted the first dissemination and presentation event, open to the public, regarding the Interreg ADRION project Inter-Connect, as well as the roundtable on strategies of cross-border and intermodal connectivity, a topic addressed by the Interreg Central Europe project CONNECT2CE.
From 24 to 26 October, the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation (WRS) hosted the meeting of the Thinktank platform on urban logistics issues, combined with the 5th Consortium meeting of the SULPITER project.
The final conference of the capacity building project “Support for Strengthening Energy Regulatory Authorities in the Western Balkans” was held in Budva - Montenegro on 12 October gathering representatives from the beneficiary countries, Albania, Serbia and Montenegro, as well as from the European Commission, the Energy Community, and energy stakeholders.
The meeting of the General Committee on Economic Affairs of the CEI Parliamentary Dimension took place on 25 September gathering delegations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine.
On 28 September and 3 October, three “Blue labs” were organised in Trieste and Monfalcone for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which are active in traditional and emerging sectors of Blue Economy in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region.
