The 4th Steering Committee Meeting of the CONNECT2CE project was held in Pilsen (Czech Republic) on 21-22 November, at the premises of the Regional Authority of the Pilsen Region (project partner).
The event was opened with welcome remarks from Mr. Pavel Cizek, Vice-president of the Regional Authority in charge of the transport area, and from Mr. Dusan Pakandl, Head of theTransport Department.
Partners gathered to discuss the state-of-the-art of the project, as well as the upcoming activities, especially regarding their respective pilot actions and stakeholders’ involvement. Within CONNECT2CE, 8 pilot actions - to be implemented in the regions of partner countries - will test the transnational tools previously elaborated on 3 main topics: connectivity, integrated ticketing & tariff schemes as well as the implementation of ICT tools for info-mobility.
Furthermore, an overview of the content and process of elaboration of transnational toolboxes was provided. These toolboxes will represent one of the project’s main operational outputs, as a practical guide for public authorities and passenger transport operators for the implementation of public transport interventions. Partners recognised the importance of including all relevant stakeholders in their region in order to facilitate closer cooperation. This is necessary for drafting and adopting 10 territorial strategies for enhancing peripheral and cross-border public transport accessibility in Central Europe, which will embody the final outcome of the project.
