First CNC meeting under BiH Presidency in Trieste

The first meeting of the Committee of National Coordinators (CNC) under the CEI Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina took place in Trieste on 8 March 2016.
 
Amb. Milos Prica, CEI National Coordinator for BiH, presented the Presidency’s priorities and calendar of events, in particular the envisaged high-level meetings to be held this year.
 
CEI Secretary General Amb. Giovanni Caracciolo di Vietri briefed the CNC on the recent activities undertaken by the Secretariat, in particular on the official visits to Belarus and Brussels, the activities related to migration and the CEI Feature Events. Special attention was paid to relations with the EU and its institutions as well as to cooperation with other international and regional organisations.

Detailed information was delivered on the preparation of the International Conference “Supporting Local Enterprises and SMEs along China’s Belt and Road Initiative in South Eastern Europe” taking place in Trieste on 19 May 2016. The event is jointly organised by the EBRD and the CEI.
 
The Secretariat also reported about the outcome of the written procedure for approval of a number of CEI Cooperation Activities, the selection results within the Advanced Training Programme for Young Officials at the CEI Secretariat as well as the activities in the framework of the EU-funded Projects.
 
The Programme Manager of the Office for the CEI Fund at the EBRD, Guido Paolucci, provided information on the approval of four Technical Cooperation (TC) projects targeting the transport, energy and policy dialogue sectors with an overall financial commitment of 795,000 EUR.
 
The National Coordinators had a preliminary exchange of views on the format and content of the new CEI Plan of Action, to be adopted by the end of the year. This Agenda item will be permanent throughout the whole year.
