The Committee of National Coordinators (CNC) of the CEI Member States convened in Trieste on 4 June 2024 for their second meeting under the Albanian Presidency. The agenda included discussions on CEI key institutional activities, administrative matters and project management.
The Presidency presented its plans for the second half of the year (activities in the fields of parliamentary cooperation, transport, tourism, cultural heritage, education and youth) , whereas the Secretariat highlighted its recent activities, such as the Flagship Events and activities in scientific cooperation and science diplomacy. It also announced the upcoming launch of the CEI Cooperation Fund Call for Proposals 2024, which will focus on the implementation of the CEI Plan of Action 2024-2026 and on initiatives supporting Ukraine. The call for proposals will be open until mid-September, with selected activities to be implemented in 2025.
Discussions also covered outcomes from the Convention for the Strengthening of the CEI and future steps; and updates on collaborations with international and regional organisations, in particular with the UN.
Hungary officially announced that it would take over the CEI Presidency in 2025.
The next CNC meeting will be held in October.
