CEI Cooperation Fund: DRC Summer School on Regional Cooperation taking place in Serbia

Around 30 participants, including young social scientists from 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, are taking part in the 11th DRC Summer School on Regional Co-operation, in Novi Sad, Serbia 6-13 July. This year, the Summer School is dedicated to the 100th anniversary since the start of the World War I, with special focus on “chances and challenges for the Danube region”.

Since 2003, the Summer School has been organised annually under the intellectual sponsorship of the Danube Rectors’ Conference (DRC), a platform for collaboration including 67 higher education institutions from 14 countries of the Danube Region. The School is organised by the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe in collaboration with the International House Pecs, with the aim of promoting regional cooperation amongst young social scientists, increasing their mobility, fostering relations between universities and improving overall regional cooperation in the Danube Region.

The Summer School is co-financed by the CEI Cooperation Fund - an instrument supporting activities of small scale and limited duration taking place in CEI Member Countries, with special attention to promoting regional mobility of individuals.

High-level scientists, young graduates and experts, politicians, civil servants, representatives of regional organisations, NGOs and EU officials are amongst the lecturers of this year's edition of the School. As in previous years, the best papers will be published in a dedicated proceedings volume by the end of the year.
