The WIDER project final event and 2nd EU Road-show took place in Brussels on 21 May 2015, under the title "Ageing at home: fostering eco-designed and marketable solutions in MED area SMEs through innovation vouchers".
Around one hundred participants gathered to witness the presentation of 39 awarded innovative projects, whose design and implementation was possible thanks to WIDER Innovation Vouchers.

The seminar on 14 May in Trieste, focused on different options of eco-sustainable housing and opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The event was organised by the Central European Initiative (CEI), within the European project WIDER, involving the "green" development of the Mediterranean SMEs, in particular through innovation in the energy sector.

Fifteen targeted meetings with representatives of various EU institutions were held on 10 and 11 December in Brussels within the first WIDER EU level Road Show, organised as part of the project's networking activities.

The CEI took part in the 4th WIDER Steering Committee Meeting which took place in Civitanova Marche (Italy) on 4 and 5 June 2014. Organised by the project lead partner, SVIM Marche from Italy, the meeting gathered all project partners as well as a number of Local Innovation Community (LIC) experts.

Around 100 representatives from more than 60 projects participated in the Joint Communication Training coorganised by the South East Europe (SEE) and Mediterranean Transnational Programmes (MED) on 2-3 June in Bled (Slovenia). The CEI was represented by two staff members, from the ACROSSEE (SEE) and WIDER (MED) projects respectively.

The 3rd WIDER Steering Committee Meeting took place in Faro (Portugal) on 15-16 April 2014. Organised by the Portuguese project partner - the University of Algarve - in the framework of the WIDER Project, the meeting gathered all project partners as well as a few Local Innovation Community (LIC) experts.

The European population is getting older which means that the number of people over 65 years of age is increasing. The ageing trend presents numerous social changes and challenges, for which adequate solutions need to be found.
Ten partners from Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have just launched the “WIDER” project – “Green groWing of SMEs: Innovation and Development in the energy sector in mEd aRea”.
