On 11 September the final event of the COME-IN! project took place at the European Parliament. The CEI-ES is particularly proud as Lead Partner of the Project, to have coordinated and worked with 14 partners over the last three years.

The COME-IN! conference held in Trieste on 30 May focusing on accessibility for all in cultural policies gathered representatives of the Ministries of culture of the CEI Member States, as well as delegates for museums, external officials, associations and other international experts on the subject of accessibility.

The COME-IN! Guidelines for accessible museums were presented to Italian stakeholders in Trieste on 14 July. The event was organised by the Regional Council of Associations of the People with Disabilities and their Families of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region (FVG), in cooperation with the CEI in its capacity as Project Lead Partner.

Accessibility is not a special need, everyone needs equal access and equal opportunies was one of the main topics of discussion during the transnational conference “COME-IN! Challenges towards the accessible museum” held in Brussels on 8 June.

The COME-IN! Project Partners met in Piran on 10-11 April on the occasion of the 2nd Steering Committee meeting in order to exchange views on two important documents: the Report on accessibility to culture for all users in Central Europe and the COME-IN! Guidelines, a set of rules, technical requirements and legal references allowing open access to collections and exhibitions in small and medium-sized museums.

The Partners of the project COME-IN! (Cooperating for Open access to Museums – towards a widEr INclusion), co-funded under the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme, met in Vienna on 13-14 February and agreed on the final version of the Report on Accessibility in Central Europe. The document provides a set of necessary measures and conditions to make small and medium-sized museums accessible to all.
