On 10-11 October, the Istituto Affari Internazionali and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, organised a CEI Dialogue Forum on Youth in Rome, under the Italian CEI Presidency.
The two-day event was a direct follow-up of the Trieste Declaration, adopted by our Ministers of Foreign Affairs in June where they strongly suggested to enhance the CEI activities in the field of youth and its challenges.
The Forum - gathering experts from the CEI Member States, representing institutions, the industry, academia and civil society – focused on youth empowerment, employment, mobility, and a balance between competition, public policies and modern entrepreneurship. It was a chance to share ideas, exchange experiences, discuss new forms of regional cooperation and provide new directions and policy recommendations on how the CEI could approach to the economic trends in its region.
Secretary General Roberto Antonione highlighted that raising awareness about the challenges faced by young people as well as finding timely solutions was therefore, crucial and that tangible inputs resulting from Forum Experts would enable the CEI to elaborate a Youth Agenda fully meeting the needs of young people.
