The Ministerial Conference on “Fostering Cohesion and Competitiveness through Regional Cooperation” took place in Zagreb, Croatia on 6 June 2018. The event was organised by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of the Republic of Croatia, in the framework of the Croatian CEI Presidency, and was attended by ministers and representatives of the governments of the CEI member countries.
The debate focused on how cohesion and competitiveness can foster regional and macro-regional cooperation, economic relations and EU enlargement.
In his intervention, CEI Deputy Secretary General Antal Nikoletti emphasised that the presence of a large number of ministers and representatives from 15 countries deminstrated an increased involvement of CEI countries through regional cooperation and work on common goals.
The gathering also included expert panels discussing EU accession and its impact on the efficiency of public administration and of macro-regional strategies on European structural and investment funds.
