The Eastern Partnership Reflection Forum 2017 (EaP-RF) in Minsk, Belarus on 10 -12 December was organised by the Austro-French Centre for Rapprochement in Europe, the Minsk Dialogue Track-II Initiative and the Centre international de formation européenne. The event was held within the framework of the CEI Belarussian Presidency, in the run-up to the CEI Summit of Minsk (12 December 2017).
This initiative is the result of a cooperation between a network of European think-tanks, the Belarussian Presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI), key members states of the European Union, as well as the EU delegation in Minsk. The Reflection Forum was opened by Oleg Kravchenko, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus; Margot Klestil-Löffler, Alternate Secretary General of the Central European Initiative; Merike Kokajev, Ambassador of Estonia to Belarus and Florent Marciacq, Deputy Secretary General of the Austro-French Centre for Rapprochement in Europe.
The Eastern Partnership Reflection Forum offered experts and policy advisers a unique platform of discussion along three topics: differentiation, resilience, and cooperation between regional orders. It has convened around a large roundtable 50 experts from 30 European states and most CEI countries as well as 20 representatives of national administrations and regional organisations (CEI, EU, EEU...). It mainly aimed at fostering an inclusive reflection on regional cooperation and pan-European rapprochement, while offering participants new opportunities for networking and cooperation.
The Eastern Partnership Reflection Forum, supported by the CEI through its Cooperation Fund, will be followed in 2018 by a series of public roundtables aimed at disseminating the results of the reflection engaged in Minsk.
