The international training programme for performance artists and students “Two Open Weeks of Plavo Theatre-10th jubilee edition” took place in Belgrade on 16-29 July. 31 participants from 14 Central European countries and one participant from outside Europe, a person researching Central European culture and art participated in the event.
This year’s programme included a variety of performing professions, more than ever before, such as actors, directors, drama writers, theatrical theorists, scenery designers, producers, puppeteers, dancers, choreographers and students. Another innovation was the inclusion of guest speakers/ trainers from the Grotowski Institute and Teatr Zar in Wroclaw, Poland, who led the first week’s workshop. They also performed a demonstration-performance and participated in other events during the first week, such as video screenings followed by open discussions. The second week was led by the Plavo Theatre artistic team, including a workshop, video screenings, demonstrations and performances.
Besides the closed part of the programme (open only for participants), there were also public events: performances and presentations.
The aim of the project was to share with participants the idea of theatre as a place of communication, of self-researching and a space of open mind where important things about us and the world around us could be expressed.
This programme was co-funded by the CEI Cooperation Fund.
