CineLink Drama workshop held in Sarajevo (BiH)

In the framework of the Sarajevo Film Festival, the CineLink Drama workshop took place at the Obala Art Centar in Sarajevo.

The event on 28 March – 2 April, focused on the underdeveloped series market in the region with a common linguistic background – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia – in particular, to define new business models and plans for further development in the broader region. Working Groups were organised with scriptwriters, directors and producers as well as an editor from public or private broadcasters from the region. Experts gave theoretical inputs in lectures and masterclasses on specific project topics, i.e. production, co-production strategies, financial plan, marketing and audience development strategies.

CineLink Drama is a designed platform for identifying and assessing all regional aspects of the TV series markets trends. The main object of the workshop is to stimulate the multi-layer regional co-production of drama series by engaging different players from both private and public broadcasters, independent producers, writers and directors. CineLink Drama is part of the Sarajevo Film Festival's industry section, which has become a major hub for Southeast European film professionals as well as a key role in the expansion of cinematic co-production in the Region. Professionals from across Europe approach the activities in order to find talents and co-production possibilities, or for gaining in-depth knowledge about this dynamic region’s business development.

Recently, the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) has received the Champion of Regional Cooperation award from the Regional Cooperation Council. As the premier and the largest film festival in SEE and among the largest ones in Europe, the SFF was recognised “for its continuous efforts in promotion of the regional film achievements and talents, and its dedication to further develop and grow with and for the region, making it a part of global film scene. SFF’s features CineLink programme and Talents Sarajevo add to enhancement of regional cooperation in art, leading to mutual tolerance and understanding in SEE and beyond.”

The event was co-financed by the CEI Cooperation Fund.
