The final ceremony of the KEP ITALY project “Public Accountants Certification Training - PACT II” was held in Skopje, Macedonia on 16 June 2016. The Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF) is concluding the 24-month project on “Public Accountants Certification Training in Macedonia” with the graduation ceremony and delivery of CIPFA diploma to successful students.
The CEF, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of Macedonia, trained a group of 33 students within the 1st PACT Project financed by the CEI Fund at the EBRD with 40,000 EUR, and a group of 19 students within this 2nd renewed PACT programme.
The project aims at establishing and maintaining international standards in public sector accounting, at raising the status of the profession in line with EU countries, and enhancing the ability of the beneficiary country to implement a modernised management accounting approach. PACT was designed by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and offered an internationally recognised, post-graduate, professional two-year training programme. It focused on the practical application of accounting and audit standards to special public sector circumstances.
The CEI Fund at the EBRD, entirely financed by Italy, supported this project with 40,000 EUR. The total project cost amounts to about 240.000 EUR. It is also supported by the World Bank.
