On 15 May 2014, the CEI participated in the 3rd Steering Committee Meeting of the “Defining Social responsibility Interventions for Grounded Networking in Machine Tools Sector (DESIGN-MTS)” project, co-financed by the EU Competitiveness and Innovation Programme.
The gathering took place in Bologna, Italy, in the framework of the LAMIERA trade show 2014, the biennial exhibition dedicated to the machine tools sector. The choice of LAMIERA was motivated by the specific opportunity to disseminate information about the project, i.e. about the importance of adopting a strategic approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the sector. The CEI's role in DESIGN-MTS as Partner, is to promote the project’s goals and support related activities in its Member States.
*** The project initiated by the European Commission, is led by the University of Macerata in partnership with CSR Europe, the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries (CECIMO), the Central European Initiative (CEI), the Istituto Ricerche Economiche e Sociali (IRES) and the University of Nottingham. The project started on 1 July 2013 and will run until 31 December 2014.
