Thirteen students from the CEI region, selected to participate in the 2nd edition of the International Master’s in Public Procurement Management (PPM) at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, are currently half-way through the programme. The Course started at the end of March and will run until the end of July. The participants have already expressed their satisfaction with the high quality of the programme and opportunities for professional growth it offers.
The academic background of participants is heterogeneous in terms of both expertise and country of origin (two from Albania, two from Bulgaria, three from Bosnia and Herzegovina, one from Moldova, and five from Serbia). The CEI Fund at the EBRD - entirely supported by Italy - has contributed 40.000 EUR to the current edition of the Master’s, thus enabling the attendance of students from non-EU CEI member countries.
“This is an extraordinary learning experience. Along with a very well-designated curriculum, the Master’s brings together outstanding procurement experts and accurately selected procurement professionals from many different sectors. The procurement knowledge gained is easily transferable to daily activities, bringing your professionalism to the next level. Finally, it is a wonderful human experience living a student’s life in Rome,” commented one of the students and the Head of Legal and Procurement Unit at the Albanian Development Fund, Valentina Kazanxhi.
“I am sure this Master’s Programme will strongly enrich my future experience in the area of Procurement. Improved skills and broadened knowledge will significantly contribute to a successful implementation of international Projects in the future in our country,” added Davor Vuckovic, Engineer for Technical Control and Project Manager from the Public Company "Republic of Srpska Motorways" in Bosnia and Herzegovina, also attending the course.
Last week the students had the opportunity to meet the procurement specialists from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), who presented the principles and procedures governing IFI’s public procurement. The PPM course subjects include economy, strategy and ethics of procurement, contract management, legal background and other relevant topics.
