Establishment of European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation

A European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) was established by the Mayors of Gorizia, Nova Gorica and St. Peter Vrtojba in the presence of  the CEI Secretary General on 13 May at the City Hall in Gorizia.

It is the first agreement of its kind between Italy and Slovenia within the context of the EU-funded project Adria-A. The Central European Initiative has promoted this important project of cross-border cooperation between Italy and Slovenia from the very beginning.

The Mayors of the three cities involved thanked the CEI for its strong support in the elaboration of the EGTC within the ADRIA A Project where the CEI acts as Lead Partner.

EGTC aims at developing crossborder cooperation in the field of energy and infrastructure.
