The project on Technical Assistance and Sharing of Best Practices for the Promotion of Female Entrepreneurship in Tourism and Services in Croatia was successfully concluded on 8 March 2011 with a Final Conference organised in Pordenone (Italy).
The gathering was opened by important political representatives of the regions involved in the project:, i.e. Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Italy, S.E .Tomislav Vidosevic; Prefect of Pordenone, Mr Pierfrancesco Galante; Councillor for Culture, Sports, International and EU Relations in the Regional Council of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Mr Elio De Anna; and President of the Province of Pordenone, Mr Alessandro Ciriani. Throughout the project support was provided for tutoring activities and targeted training courses for Croatian staff who will offer assistance to women developing enterprises in the fields of tourism and services: 22 Croatian unemployed women had the opportunity to develop, under direct guidance, business plans for their future endeavours. During the event, the main stakeholders involved in the development of the project along with a CEI representative, discussed the various phases of the project and its results. Furthermore, three Croatian participants who developed the best business plans had the opportunity to present their work. The assignment was carried out by FINEST S.p.A. together with other Italian partners such as the Province of Pordenone, the Chamber of Commerce of Padua in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of the Zadar County, recipient of the know-how transfer. Partly financed through the CEI Trust Fund at the EBRD under the CEI Know-how Exchange Programme, the project was also made possible thanks to joint efforts from the Central European Initiative and the Adriatic Ionian Initiative.
