CEI-ES and Ministry of Justice sign MoU in Trieste

On 3 May, the CEI - Executive Secretariat and the Italian Ministry of Justice (Department of Penitentiary Administration - Triveneto Office) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The Ceremony took place at the CEI Headquarters, where CEI Secretary General Roberto Antonione and Director Enrico Sbriglia signed the agreement for opening a new joint line of action.

“With our 17 Member States and experience in designing and managing international projects, we can contribute to enhancing know-how exchange and best practices between EU and non-EU countries in the area of judicial cooperation and capacity building, raising awareness on topics such as human rights, rehabilitation and social reintegration. Collaborating with the Ministry of Justice, and particularly with its Triveneto branch office, is a first, yet decisive, step in this direction”, said CEI SG Antonione.

A dedicated Working Group will be set up to manage the implementation of the MoU and secure the necessary flow of information between the two parties.
