KEP AUSTRIA "CEI-ener2i-MD": Interviews with beneficiaries from Moldovan SMEs

Five innovation vouchers for Moldovan SMEs, including start-ups and spin-offs have been financed in the framework of the CEI KEP Austria-funded project Innovation stimulation for Moldovan SMEs in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energies (CEI-ener2i-MD). The activity aims at raising awareness within the recipient institution - the Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer in Moldova - on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. The one-year project is led by the Austrian know-how provider, the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI), a transdisciplinary social science research institute with great experience in capacity building and policy advice with countries from Eastern Europe and supported by a KEP grant of 47.275 EUR, to be concluded in February 2016.

The ZSI has collected some feedback from innovation voucher recipients:

1. Nicolae Cojocaru, Project Manager, discusses the relevance of the CEI-ener2i-MD funded project "The Flow of Life", which comprises the creation of an energy independent greenhouse through use of different technologies.

2. Alexei Meshalkin, Deputy Director of the company Moldtheprotectie IVM and Dr Vladimir Abashkin, Institute of Applied Physics talk about their CEI-ener2i-MD funded Innovation voucher projects "Polymers for energy efficiency improvement" and "Thin polymer films Fresnel concentrator to boost efficiency of photovoltaic cells".

3. Igor Golban, Manager of the company GT "Ygrick Grup", talks about implementing the CEI-ener2i-MD funded project "Energy Integrated System for small Moldovan enterprises in the agricultural sector".

The KEP AUSTRIA - part of CEI Know-how Exchange Programme - is financed by Austria, with funding provided by the Austrian Development Cooperation (based on an agreement between the Central European Initiative and Austrian Development Agency). The Programme aims at promoting capacity building and technical assistance through know-how transfer from CEI EU to CEI non-EU Member States.
