The representatives of the International Visegrad Fund (IVF) visited the CEI Secretariat in Trieste on Wednesday, 21 January, to exchange views on possibilities of cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe.
"Both the CEI and the IVF have often met as donors in many projects over the years, so it is only logical to think of finding more areas to pull together our resources, expertise and experience in the region, which for the CEI has been 25 years and for IVF 15 years", said Public Relations and Grants Coordinator of the Fund, Jiri Sykora at the sidelines of the meeting.
"There is plenty of potential for enhancing collaboration, especially since our priority regions mostly overlap with the CEI Member States", Sykora added stressing EU integration as a top priority area shared by both organisations. He also pointed out that the end users could benefit from this collaboration, as both the IVF and the CEI could jointly promote each other's programmes, offering users greater access to information about funding opportunities and therefore a greater chance of receiving funding for their activities. ***
The International Visegrad Fund is an international organisation based in Bratislava, founded by the governments of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries - The Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, all of which are also CEI Member Countries. The Fund promotes the development of closer cooperation amongst citizens and institutions in the region, as well as between the V4 countries and the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries, which are also part of the CEI region.
