KEP Italy Project “Development of On-line Geodata Portal of Cultural Heritage in Novi Sad” mentioned in publication “Science for Cultural Heritage”

A publication on Science for Cultural Heritage promoted by the Association AIS3 (Association of Serbian and Italian Scientists and Scholars) includes a chapter dedicated to the KEP Italy Project on Development of Online Geodata Portal of Cultural Heritage in Novi Sad.

The publication collects the proceedings of  the international conference dedicated to advanced technologies for the protection and promotion of cultural heritage in Belgrade in November 2013 organised by the Italian Embassy in Belgrade together with Association AIS3.

The KEP project is financed by the CEI Fund at the EBRD contributed by the Italian Government in the framework of the Know-How Exchange Programme (KEP). The assignment is led by the 3D Optical Metrology (3DOM) Unit of the Bruno Kessler Foundation from Trento, Italy in cooperation with three local partners: the Faculty of Technical Sciences - Department of Architecture of the University of Novi Sad, the Public Enterprise for City Construction and Development and the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monument. The activities aim at improving the digitalisation of cultural heritage documentation as one of the main priorities in the Strategy for Information Society Development in Serbia.

To this end, developing and improving the existing public online GIS portal of Novi Sad, created by Public Enterprise for City Construction and Development and ensuring sustainability of the know-how transfer through collaborative work and student education are among the objectives to be pursued.
