X CEI Youth Forum: ``Education and Employment of Young People – Challenges and Prospectives``

The X CEI Youth Forum "Education and Employment of Young People - Challenges and Perspectives" was held in Budva on 25 and 26 November 2010, under the Montenegrin Presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI).

This CEI Feature Event was organized by the Directorate of Youth and Sport of Montenegro, with financial support from the Central European Initiative Secretariat.

Representatives of respective ministries and youth organizations working in the fields of employment and / or education from 12 CEI member countries (Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Slovenia) had the opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities for the successful transition of young people from the education system to the labour market within the following working groups on:

1. Government support measures for youth employment

2. Harmonization of educational policies with the labor market developments

3. Prerequisites for successful entry of young people into the labour market

4. Educational mobility

The forum also served as an opportunity and a platform for an exchange of best practices, and the creation of joint conclusions and recommendations for decision-makers.

The forum was opened by Biljana Mišović on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science and Tania Pibernik on behalf of Central European Initiative. Introductory speeches were delivered by Clive Rambold, Deputy Head of Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro, Alexander Avanessov, UN Resident Coordinator in Montenegro, and Vladimir Radovanić, Vice Minister, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare.
