Visit of Italian Delegation of CEI Parliamentary Assembly to CEI Headquarters

On 13 July 2010, the Italian Delegation of the CEI Parliamentary Assembly, headed by Hon. Roberto Antonione, paid a visit to the CEI Headquarters in Trieste.

The delegation was composed of Hon. Alessandro Maran, Hon. Aldo Di Biagio and Senator Tamara Blazina.

Both Hon. Roberto Antonione and Secretary General, Amb. Gerhard Pfanzelter, stressed the role of the CEI as a bridge between the Baltic, Danube, Adriatic and Black Sea regions. This potential was also highlighted in the Budva Recommendations adopted on the occasion of the Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs held in Budva under the Montenegrin Presidency.

The gathering was also an opportunity to present the successful partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London and the growing CEI participation in EU programmes.

The meeting focused on the importance of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Central European Initiative and outlined areas of common interest for future cooperation.
