Maker-Faire Trieste focuses on science and creativity

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 26 AGO - 3D printing, robots of all kinds and shapes, educational projects, and electronic boards designed for various tasks are some of the creations born from the creativity of makers that will be on display in Trieste on Saturday, August 31, and Sunday, September 1, during the 11th edition of Maker Faire Trieste, the festival of ingenuity, creativity, science, and technology. The event was presented today and is promoted by the Municipality of Trieste and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, with the support of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. In Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia, the organizers will showcase 120 projects involving over 400 makers from different regions and countries, such as Slovenia, Croatia, and Germany. It will be "an international gathering of imagination and creativity," emphasized the event's organizer, Carlo Fonda. It's a journey into technology and research to discover inventions and projects while learning in the maker way—having fun, exploring, playing, and experimenting. The fair also includes the Science Picnic, an interactive science section featuring meetings with researchers, experiments, and performances. "The synergy between the Municipality and ICTP," underlined Trieste's mayor, Roberto Dipiazza, "has brought citizens closer to the world of science through a joyful event over the years. We have engaged citizens and tourists in awareness paths that stimulate ingenuity and creativity." "At this fair," said ICTP Director Atish Dabholkar, "everyone can look to the future of science and technology, which is generated by this science for the benefit of all humanity, with a spirit of openness, curiosity, and sharing. But these are also the principles of all makers, who will gather to share with everyone the creative inventions and projects realized with great passion." (ANSA).
